out like a lamb

Filed under: Uncategorized — TheBug @ 7:00 pm

the sunshine returned to sonnystone at about 10:30 a.m. 3/28 and we’ve been feeling quite buoyant ever since. my pearly-whites are finally in place as of tuesday. we’re halfway done with screening in the back porch for the winkster. we’ve gotten a few estimates on siding the garage, but husband may end up doing that himself. i’m working on the plant sale committee and the chairman is a slave-driver, so i’m happily busy. congratulations, we made it through another winter.

isn’t the little winker something? after so much time spent in front of the monitor, he finally mastered–er, began to master–the keyboard. i’ve been pretty busy lately with garden club, new computer, and upcoming holy days, so he’ll be filling in with his point-of-view on events. maybe it will keep him from smashing (again) the easter-egg tree….

HI!

God bless the irish

Filed under: Uncategorized — TheBug @ 11:46 pm

!!happy day-to-thank-the-Irish-for-saving-civilization!! during the “dark ages” Ireland was quite the place to be. the irish loved their stories and were able to write their own language. after st.paddy drove all the snakes out, he made a nation of scribes. they copied and re-told from memory, and if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t have much to explain history. mr.st.patrick was cat..lic, in case you didn’t know, and he replaced or changed many ancient irish/celtic traditions…but he didn’t introduce prayer. the irish have always been a praying people, albeit to gods with too many consonants in their name. of the many prayers which were passed down first from speaking, then through writing is this:

May God grant you always
A sunbeam to warm you
A moonbeam to charm you
A sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you
Laughter to cheer you
Faithful friends near you
And whenever you pray, heaven to hear you.

don’t forget that many of these prayers were said over Whiskey, Beer, a tall tale, and always with singing, a flute, or other instrument of music.

All my trials…soon be over

Filed under: Uncategorized — TheBug @ 6:05 pm

i will try to be very journalistic in my discussion of News, since the last time i gave an opinion it prompted an invasion of foaming-at-the mouth dissenters. today was a busy day in court. Bob B..ke, as we all know, was found not guilty; interestingly, most cable news folks seem disappointed. my mainline for trial info is court tv and their attitude was: great, he really likes to talk and we can fill up lots of time letting him talk! there was quite at drama in redwood as s..t peterhead was sentenced to death (i apologize–that wasn’t nice) i’m also keeping an eye on the M. J..ks.n trial and wish they’d just stop now. but then it will be back to the garden-variety trials—murderous children, grandchildren, girfriends, and boyfriends. there’s been such a surge of violence–atlanta, that church-killing, the schoolbus driver murder; the little girl in fl is still missing. (can we check these numbers with those in Ir.q?) but wait–there’s a bevy of female teachermolester trials coming up…

i am a frequent shopper at several antique and consignment shops around town, one of them being noma faye’s consignments. i’ve gotten to know the fella who owns the place and today he came to the house to look at some furniture that i want reupholstered. what a bonus it was when he helped me remix the furniture in the living and dining rooms. he looked at my stuff with a fresh eye and i really love his ideas. he’s hooking me up with some inexpensive reupholsterers and will help me with fabric choices. best of all, he has 7 cats! wink loved him and was most helpful with moving the piano. it’s just the inspiration i needed to produce a new to-do list for husband (and handyman wink).
