when our festival started back in 1979, it was about boats–loud boats. it has, happily, evolved into a full menu of activities including U.S. Navy Blue Angels and a balloon glow. we’ve had highs close to 100, but husband and i managed to enjoy as we sweated and burned.
my cuzn ronna is 50-years-old today…i hope reading that doesn’t bum her out. it’s just too hot to go upstairs and dig through the snapshots for an embarassing baby picture of her, but i promise to post one soon. hey twin cousin! i love you! (i’m sure all of my readers do, too)
remember these kids? husband and i drove up to lafayette this weekend for my first glimpse of their new home. their collegeburg community was hosting a “taste of tippecanoe” fest that stretched from their courthouse across the pedestrian bridge that spans the mighty wabash river to a really nice park. they had a climbing wall, by the way..hmm. daughter-in-law and i visited some antique stores and i got first glimpse of the official wedding pics. my grandkitten, sugar, was most pleased to see me and is looking forward to her upcoming vacation at sonnystone. i’ve been coming up with design/decor, landscaping ideas and after the honeymoon we can roll up our sleeves and play this olde house. we finished up our night watching fireworks from the silver dipper ice cream house.
