here’s the photo you’ve all been waiting for: the debut of our newest family member.  i can hardly wait till moon comes in and gets some good pictures of him, because he’s even cuter than these pix.  i’m hoping that this weather will straighten up and niece ali can bring him and/or his brothers over for some real-life sonnystone adventures.

hey, ali, i know your eyes are closed in this pic, but you look so happy.  (also, i didn’t have to deal with the usual red-eye effect of your beautiful blue eyes)

the drawer boy, originally uploaded by rightbug?.

i bought tickets last week to see “the drawer boy” at civic with cuzn lana; she bailed about 6p last night due to ill health.  i was pretty bummed and sister was busy, so husband and i trekked on down and took in the show.  the “drawer” is a “draw-er” —someone who draws.  makes much more sense now, doesn’t it.  it was very good.  the actors were well-known to me and i knew they would only pick a pithy play.  as sorry as i am that lana didn’t come, i’m happy to report that husband enjoyed himself and has offered to be my play-pal for life.

let me just give you some advice, youngsters:  do everything you’re big enough to.

all of these lines across my face

tell you the story of who i am

so many stories of where i’ve been

and how i got to where i am

thanks to all of you for reading my stories.

’cause these stories don’t mean anything

if you’ve got no one to tell them to.

the lady’s hair is spiked; the gentleman’s wearing a pony-tail.  that’s the kind of bar it is:  borrowed hip-ness from new orleans.  i had a muffaletta and casey had a po’ boy.  good stuff.  we didn’t have a hurricane, but will next time.  and we’ll order less food, since we had to have 2 to-go boxes.

party!, originally uploaded by rightbug?.

i’m feeling giddy from the fun and love that kicked off my birthday week (or 2).  i got to hold baby samuel and kiss and hug all my loved ones.  we gingerly stepped through the ice and cold to have some family fun tonight and i thank my nieces—-who i dearly love.  thanks to my sis for giving birth to them…thanks to Mom (we know birthdays are all about Mom)…tomorrow will be another celebration.

birthday bouquet

birthday bouquet, originally uploaded by rightbug?.

today is the official start of my week-long gala extravaganza birthday week…and lord knows i need it.  we’ve had another 2 days off school (in case you’ve lost count, we’ve taken 5 snow days in the past 2 weeks) and i’m feeling lonely and somewhat sad.

wednesday i had my bi-weekly manicure with a young lady who’s quickly become a pal.  she brought me this beautiful bouquet for the upcoming event and the blooms have done their best to keep me cheered.

tonight we’re supposed to get together at kipplee’s with sister, nieces and greats.  husband has worked since 11pm last night (he’s up to 44 overtime hours this week) but he’ll probably want to go along for a little while.  i will be bringing a “little something” to give everyone and that, too, cheers me somewhat.

i’ve been dreading this particular age for, oh about a year now.  55 sounds much older than i feel.  well, older than i felt before this recent imprisonment.  i have few regrets about my past and look forward to a fulfilling future, but it seems for some time now i’ve felt that the “thrill is gone”.  too many wrinkles, too many teeth gone, too much work to keep thin, and who cares anyway?  enough griping, i’m blessed to look as good as i do and i’m sure i’ll feel better after a bath and donning my boots.

so, i have several activities planned.  stay tuned for pictures and updates.
