the eggstravaganza begins
i’ve been looking forward to this for weeks and had bought the kids a few party favors and their own baskets for the hunt.

ready for the hunt, originally uploaded by rightbug?.
the second annual sonnystone easter-egg-hunt was attended by (from left to right) berkeley, noah, briley, ben and alex, my great-nieces and nephews. little samuel was also there and next year he’ll be out hunting, too.
don’t cry over spilled eggs, originally uploaded by rightbug?.
casey had hidden 100 eggs all around the house and back to the firepit. he got a big kick out of watching and “helping”. the kids were competitive, but kindly helped ben pick up his eggs even though he was winning.

i’m so thankful for my nieces and their kids. i do wish i’d never had to grow up and being with this group makes me feel like i haven’t. we’ll do it again next year!

finally finished…..here’s how it evolved.
helllllp! they’ve called off school again tomorrow because of rain and flooded roads…….husband took some pics of the river wahoo at crest, but for some reason i can’t post them, so you’ll have to use your imagination: sonnystone is an island. 9 inches of rain. state of emergency. can somebody please get me out of here?!
sonnystone in the snow (again), originally uploaded by rightbug?.
having officially lost my mind in the snow many weeks ago, i don’t know how to express how i feel. husband has set a record number of overtime hours (thanks to the security work last weekend) and the school system has set a record with school-day cancellations.
but hey, i started 36 impatiens, a dozen each of snapdragons and bachelors buttons as well as 4 hollyhocks. my african violets are blooming and my spider plants are having babies all over the place.
