happy birthday, husband!, originally uploaded by rightbug?.

we’re off to church, out to eat, continue decorating for christmas. for his birthday, i got him just what he wanted: long underwear and chocolate. mike & jess brought in a lowe’s gift card and i’m sure his daughter will think of him sometime today. he’s probably going to be patrolling this evening as there is the first “flurry alert” of the year. a very exciting day for the little guy, huh?

all i can say is this: he’s the best man i know or knew. love only begins to explain 30 years of being cared for by him. thank you, honey.

what a nice thanksgiving we’ve had. macy’s parade was great, company was comfortable, food was adequate, and santa came in just as expected– someone we can always count on. after the casey jr’s left we fell into “miracle on 34th street”—the natalie wood one……i’m ready for a season of peace and joy.

to that end, we’ve taken down our harvest decorations and will commence with the hangin’ o’ the greens (and reds).

cold sunday afternoons were made for willard library. i am so grateful for this gem of a place to wile away the hours. maybe it’s the gothic exterior, maybe it’s the gorgeous stairway that invites me in as i walk through the heavy wooden doors. it could be the way it’s so quiet that my footsteps echo on the inlaid-tile floors, or how the sun shines through the massive windows onto the reading tables. i am a library-lover, specializing in the old-fashioned carnegie libraries, but loving our spacious new central library, as well. willard library, however, is in a class of its own.

it’s a new dawn, people.

I won’t be going to NYC this week-end due to ongoing problems with my gallbladder. With the weather so beautiful around here I’m sure I’ll find something fun to do.

Our little Olivia went to the doctor yesterday and here are her new stats (I think):  12.76 lbs.  24.25 inches tall.  She’s being put on formula now and they’ve also been referred to Riley for a pediatric ophthalmologist to evaluate that little hemangioma under her eye.   Mike was too humble to brag, but I’m sure the doctors mentioned her obvious genius and remarkable goodness.

I’m loading up a box of gifts for Emma that I was planning to deliver personally.  Somehow I think she’ll be okay with the arsenal of tights, dresses, and shoes she’ll be getting.  I will miss her, but she is able to talk on the phone now and say “I wuv oo, Paw-Paw”……….yeah, she mentions me occasionally.
