writing “june 30″ reminds me that it is my niece sara’s bday today. tell her happy if you see her.
there is a vectren crew outside putting in a new gas meter. 3 guys and a gal, and the gal is giving us a bad name by being cute and worthless, not even dressed in workboots. the one guy used to be our meter reader and he’s bragging about the work we’ve done on the house as if it were his own. kinda sweet.
it’s another day of nothing-to-do and noplace-to-go. i think i’ll take my smile outside and swing.
enough of the michael jackson, already. gee, do you think it might’ve been drug-related? let’s get on to the funeral with dueling rev. al and rev. jj, music by a lipsyncing d. ross, and fly the filipino prisoners over to do the dancing. l.a. will never be the same.
i’m counting the days till boychild, his lovely wife and talented daughter arrive. i’m hoping moongirl has some fun beach plans planned in her neck of the woods. what are you all doing? anybody want to come by and drink some beer with me? let me know so i can buy some beer.
>belch< laughing smile.
anyway. well, it’s just gardening and cleaning around here. i got my eyelashes plucked again, so i’ve stopped involuntary crying. i had my way with the wand at my annual pelvic ultrasound yesterday. and last, but not least, i finally framed some of the antique sheet music i have lying around. i’m edging toward being ready for the Presence of Olivia over the 4th of July. i’d love to have a party.
i’ve got to get to bed. love the one you’re with.
as for the blues fest, we opted to set up our pool to combat the sweatysweltering heat; i thought i’d avoid the bugs, too, by not sitting outside in the grass. i thought wrong.
sunday after church (that’s another story) we bought some more plants for the front porch (begonias and coleus) and i spent a lot of the day out on the front porch. i was pretty smug because the mosquitoes were absent; however, i forgot about the damn chiggers. today i am covered with chigger bites in my nether parts–yes every crack and cranny has been nibbled. i’m trying to not scratch, but i forget.
my nails and brows are overgrown and i’m off this a.m. to fix them up. just like my look-alike niece, i’m multi-tasking: scratching and smiling!
today we’re up for the dock dogs down at the evansville’s mini-fest, but tv said you can’t bring in “professional” cameras……is my nikon d60 professional? why would they cramp a hobbyist’s style like that? for $15 an armband, i’m going to make sure i can take in my camera before i buy. i’d hate to miss the dock dogs, though.
the concrete is pretty much done and the rest of the garage won’t be built until 7/6. i’ve got a little time to kill. still looking for a companion to the new harmony plays…..
i’ll return with pix one way or another. have a great smiley day!
the workers are already outside working on the prep to lay concrete for the new garage. you know how much i love it when there are people outside my windows wherever i look.
i read 5 of the patterson books and decided to let it slide. the characters just are not real; one of the club members was even killed off just when she was beginning to have some depth. those books are always written by patterson and someone else. i don’t think it works; i’m sure it would work for tv, though.
the j.j. cale album has really gotten under my skin and i’m listening to it over and over. also picked up some doors–i didn’t have any in my library! now i have it all; great stuff.
thanks to the unrelenting rainstorms my garden is doing great and i picked my first zucchini and yellow sqash yesterday. come on, tomatoes! go green beans! i know you can do it, bell peppers!
sister bailed on our planned luncheon today, but i will be heading over to the blues fest later this week—-please let it stop raining—for fun & music. lord knows, husband and i need to have some time away from garage-building.
i’m smiling my best yellow-toothy smile at ya. don’t get too close…it’s catching.
