week-end & end-of-month wrap-up
i will spare you the perfunctory picture of snow. we got around 5inches of very fluffy snow saturday morning and husband was out for 16 hours clearing the highways. when he came home around 3pm, he couldn’t get into the driveway!! i was good to go about 4:30, but missed briley’s birthday party. i’ve got her present and will make proper amends as soon as possible. sorry, bri. happy birthday and i love you. i hear she’s not feeling well, so i hope that’s all better by the time i get to see her. basically, i didn’t get out of the house all week-end. i did manage to write a few poems, practice the piano, read “the principles of uncertainty” (an amazing book), and sing-along-dance with lots of good music.
january was okay. i did manage to meet most of my goals, publishing 3 interviews, writing numerous poems, getting somewhat better at playing the dulcimer. now it’s on to february, birding class and birthday. i’m accompanying 3 groups from ELS at the solo & ensemble contest this saturday; also playing piano that evening up at darmstadt. sister and i have a nursing home gig planned for the 16th and olivia will be in town the week-end of the 13th. i should be able to get the interviews published on time beginning again wednesday. we need to plan a birthday party, too.
how about you? weather permitting, what’s your goal for the month of february? it’s the longest short month of the year, you know, so you better have a plan!!
Bri is finally better…strep throat….we understand completely. We’ll call you about getting together for your b-day…I am up for anything. I had to put Schiti to sleep yesterday…I am sad. She was 15…at least we got to enjoy her for a long time!@
